Mahindra & Mahindra (M&M) has launched two versions of the Rexton SUV in Kochi, India that are designed by its subsidiary SsangYong Motor.
Both variants, the RX7 and the RX5 are powered by 2.7L, 2696 cc engine that generates output of 184bhp and 402Nm torque with the RX7's 5-speed automatic transmission, while producing 162bhp and 340 Nm Torque with the RX5's 5-speed manual transmission.
M&M CEO Pravin Shah said that with styling, a product packed with technological advances, advanced safety features, comfort and conveniences, the Rexton is ideally suited for the discerning Kochi consumer.
"Going ahead we are sure that the Rexton will further enhance our SUV product portfolio, especially in the hi-end SUV space." Shah added.
The car comes with leather upholstery, 8-way electrically adjustable driver's seat with lumbar support, flat-folding 2nd and 3rd row seats, automatic access function for driver, auto day and night Internal Rear View Mirror.
Features of the SUV include electronic stability program (ESP), four airbags, anti-lock brake system, hill descent control, anti slip regulation, active rollover protection and engine immobilizer.
In addition, the car has 6-inch touch screen infotainment system with GPS navigation, automatic climate control system, electric sunroof, cruise control and audio controls on steering wheel, rain sensors and auto headlamps.
The company also plans to launch the SsangYong Korando in India.
